The Story of Audi...
One of the most renowned premium car manufacturers in the world, and therefore the fiercest rival of Mercedes and BMW. Like them, Audi is, of course, German. Today, it is part of the Volkswagen empire alongside Skoda, Seat, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Bugatti, which is why many Audi models share platforms, engines, and components with cars from these brands.
Audi is a relatively young manufacturer in its current form, as it has only existed since the mid-1960s. However, its history goes much further back—the name "Audi" has been around since 1910. It is the Latin translation of its founder's name, August Horch ("listen" in old German). In 1932, the brand merged with DKW, Wanderer, and Horch (the first brand August created before founding Audi) to form Auto Union.
